The fact that playing with Crybaby Toy helps children learn to be more emotionally intelligent is unparalleled. Crybaby toys help inspire children to look beyond themselves. Children, especially little ones, tend to be very focused on just themselves. Role playing to take care of with a toy focuses their attnetion to another “person’s” needs. When children think of their crybaby toy and say, “My baby is sad- how can I help?” they think about someone else for the very first time and try to help them, and that is called perspective-taking, and it is a foundation for building empathy. Even though the baby toy is just plastic and fabric, the lesson is real.
